How the home automation budget planner works
The planner turns a list of equipment and services into a working budget for an Indian home. Each line has a quantity and a unit allowance in rupees; the planner adds installation, the tax percentage you choose and a contingency, then shows the total. Use it before you ask for quotes, so you know what you are trying to buy, and again when quotes arrive, to see which lines differ.
- List the equipment and services room by room, or start from the illustrative lines.
- Replace each unit allowance with a rate from a supplier quote or listing you have checked.
- Set installation, GST and a contingency for items you cannot price yet.
- Download the budget, or carry it into the project brief and scope planner.
How much should I budget for home automation in India?
It depends on the rooms, the functions you choose, the brand and whether the home is wired or retrofitted. Price your own room list here with supplier rates, then compare the result with our 2BHK and 3BHK cost guide and the written quotes you receive.
Are the rates in the planner real prices?
No. The starting allowances are illustrative planning numbers. Replace them with quotes or listings you have checked; the planner does the arithmetic, it does not know today’s market rate.
Should GST be included in my budget?
Yes. Enter the tax percentage that applies to your quotation. Equipment and installation can be taxed differently, so ask each provider to show GST per line.
Is my budget saved or sent anywhere?
It stays in this browser tab for up to 24 hours unless you download it or choose to attach it to a project enquiry. No account or email is needed.
