THE SHORT ANSWER
What should you know first?
Published figures for a 2BHK in India run from about ₹5,000 for device-only light and fan control (Aziot) to ₹1,30,000+ for an installed core package (SmarDen). For a 3BHK they run from about ₹10,000 device-only to ₹1,80,000+ installed (SmarDen), with a ₹2.6 lakh worked example (Studio Matrx). Scope, wiring and brand, not flat size, decide the number.

Our recommendation
Treat any single rupee figure for a 2BHK or 3BHK as a starting point for questions, not a budget. Write the room-by-room scope first, price it against current listings, then make every quote show devices, installation, programming, networking, GST and AMC as separate lines.
Original editorial analysis of manufacturer documentation, not a hands-on review. Prices are a dated website snapshot, not a live offer. Confirm the delivered Indian price, taxes, availability and warranty before purchasing.

How much does home automation cost for a 2BHK in India?
Published figures for a 2BHK in India range from about ₹5,000 to more than ₹5 lakh, and the gap is almost entirely about what is included. At the low end, Aziot's own cost blog works out a 2BHK at about ₹5,000 for five 4-node smart switches controlling lights and fans, and about ₹8,000 once three IR blasters for AC control are added. That is a device-only number for a buyer who installs, or has an electrician install, the modules.
Packaged kits sit in the next band. SYAN Automation lists its 2 BHK packages at ₹18,999, ₹27,999 and ₹49,999 (tax included, checked 11 October 2026), with installation by your local electrician using SYAN's video guidance. Automaura's 2 BHK Platinum Pack was listed on Amazon.in at ₹27,940 against a list price of ₹83,820. Wozart lists a 2-BHK Automation Kit at ₹44,893 including taxes, described as suitable for homes of around 1,500 sq. ft.
Installed, multi-category packages cost more. SmarDen publishes a 2BHK core package at ₹1,30,000+ covering smart touch switch boards, a smart door lock, curtains in the living room and bedroom, and a video door phone. Ideas and Living, a Bengaluru interiors firm, publishes ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh for a basic or mid-level 2BHK and ₹2.5 lakh+ for premium. InteriorCalculator estimates ₹3 lakh to ₹5.5 lakh for a mid-tier Wi-Fi 2BHK with lights, curtains and security, depending on the city. None of these is an installed price for your flat.
- Device-only light and fan control: the Aziot and SYAN-type figures.
- Retail or brand kits with AC control and plugs: the Automaura and Wozart-type figures.
- Installed packages with lock, curtains and video door phone: the SmarDen-type figure.
- Mid-tier systems with curtains and security across rooms: the InteriorCalculator-type figure.

How much does home automation cost for a 3BHK in India?
For a 3BHK, published figures range from about ₹10,000 for device-only light, fan and AC control to well over ₹5 lakh for a fully integrated system. Aziot's blog puts a 3BHK at about ₹6,000 for six 4-node switches and about ₹10,000 with four IR blasters added. Wozart lists a 3-BHK Automation Kit at ₹62,790 including taxes. Solution Tree, a dealer, lists a Schneider 3BHK Home Automation Package at ₹70,999 against a struck-out ₹1,36,618; the page was last modified in 2021, so treat it as a historical listing that still shows that price.
SmarDen publishes a 3BHK core setup at ₹1,80,000+, adding living-room dimming to the 2BHK scope. Auro Realty's blog puts a basic smart-lighting and security setup for a 3BHK at ₹1.5 to 2 lakh and a fully integrated system with HVAC, lighting, security, energy management and entertainment at ₹5 to 12 lakh. Ideas and Living publishes ₹75,000 to ₹2.5 lakh for a basic or mid-level 3BHK in Bengaluru and ₹4 lakh+ for premium. Ghar.tv gives ₹3,50,000 to ₹5,50,000 for a 1,200 sq ft 3BHK with complete automation.
The most useful 3BHK figure is the one that is itemised. Studio Matrx publishes a mid-band wireless worked example totalling about ₹2.6 lakh: ₹48,000 for about 24 switch points, ₹22,000 for lighting scenes, ₹28,000 for three AC controllers and four fan regulators, ₹52,000 for curtains on three windows, ₹32,000 for a four-camera PoE CCTV set, ₹24,000 for a main-door lock and doorbell, ₹14,000 for sensors, ₹22,000 for three-node mesh Wi-Fi and ₹18,000 for the hub and programming. The same source says the home could cost about ₹1.4 lakh with DIY brands and no curtains, or over ₹4 lakh with Schneider or Legrand and blinds throughout.

Why do published prices for the same flat differ so much?
Prices for the same 2BHK or 3BHK differ because each source prices a different scope, not because one of them is right. A ₹5,000 figure covers smart switch modules only. A ₹1,30,000 figure includes a door lock, curtain motors and a video door phone, each of which can cost more than the entire switch budget. A ₹5 lakh figure usually includes CCTV, multi-room control, premium keypads and professional programming.
The second driver is whether the price is a listing or an installed price. Retail and brand pages show what you pay for a box. They rarely include the electrician, the curtain track fitting, the network, configuration of scenes and schedules, or a site visit after handover. SYAN, for example, states its package is installed by your local electrician, and Leccy and Genesis sells curtain track installation as a separate ₹1,499 service for up to 8 ft.
The third driver is the technology tier. Studio Matrx gives smart switch reference points of roughly ₹1,200 per switch for Wipro, Havells and GM, ₹2,500 for Schneider Wiser and Legrand, and ₹6,000+ for Lutron and Basalte. Multiply that difference by 20 to 30 points in a 2BHK and the spread in published totals is easy to explain. InteriorCalculator also notes that full wired integration for a 2BHK is priced in a different band altogether, at ₹8 lakh to ₹18 lakh.
- Is the figure device-only or installed?
- Which rooms and which categories are included?
- Which brand and product line is assumed?
- Are networking, programming and civil work inside or outside the number?
- Is GST included, excluded or not mentioned?

What is the smart switch price in India?
Smart switch prices in India range from under ₹1,000 for a basic Wi-Fi module to around ₹5,000 or more for a branded touch switch, before installation. On 11 October 2026, Havells listed the Signia Smart Two Channel Relay Switch (2 modules, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz) at a special price of ₹4,998 against an MRP of ₹7,350, inclusive of all taxes. Moglix listed the Wipro Artisa Neo 2 Way 24A Smart Touch 1 Channel 2 Module switch (NWS1110) at ₹3,853 including ₹587 GST, against an MRP of ₹6,590.
Value brands sell for much less. Aziot listed its 4 Node Smart Switch at ₹999 and an 8-module toughened glass touch switch panel at ₹5,999. These numbers are not directly comparable: a 1-channel switch, a 2-channel relay, a 4-node module and an 8-module panel control different numbers of loads, and some need a neutral at the switch box.
Published installed rates add the electrician's work. Studio Matrx lists a retrofit smart switch module at ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per point installed, a full wireless smart switch plate at ₹2,500 to ₹6,000, and a wired or premium plate at ₹8,000 to ₹18,000. InteriorCalculator uses ₹2,500 to ₹6,000 per smart switch and says a 2BHK has 20 to 30 switches. Count your own switch points with Nexoforma's room and point planner before using any per-switch figure.
- Compare price per controlled load, not per box.
- Check whether the module needs a neutral wire at the switch box.
- Confirm the plate, frame and box are included or separate.
- Check the load rating for fans, geysers and AC circuits.
- Note the warranty period; Havells lists 1 year for the Signia module.

How much do curtain motors, smart locks and video door phones add?
Curtain motors, smart locks and video door phones often add more to a 2BHK or 3BHK quote than all the smart switches together. Leccy and Genesis listed a Wi-Fi smart curtain motor at ₹6,999, a track and motor combo at ₹11,200, and a professional curtain track installation service at ₹1,499 for up to 8 ft, checked 11 October 2026. Studio Matrx publishes ₹9,000 to ₹28,000 per window for an installed motorised curtain track and ₹7,000 to ₹22,000 for a motorised roller blind.
Godrej's own security store listed digital and smart locks from ₹6,782 (Catus Touch, PIN and key, free installation) to ₹46,149 (a 9-in-1 main-door model). Wi-Fi models such as the Neo Connect were listed at ₹10,999 to ₹11,299 with free installation, and the Advantis GSLD1 7-in-1 at ₹14,619 to ₹16,120 depending on finish. Studio Matrx publishes a ₹8,000 to ₹35,000 range for a smart door lock.
The same Godrej store listed video door phones from ₹5,899 (Seethru NR Lite) to ₹21,493 (Seethru NEX Lux and Pro Nova). SmarDen publishes a ₹5,000 to ₹25,000 range for a video door phone system. Before you add these to a budget, check door thickness and material for the lock, the society's rules for the main door, and whether the video door phone must connect to an existing intercom.
- Measure each window width and note the curtain weight before pricing motors.
- Ask whether curtain track, fitting and wiring to the motor are included.
- Check lock compatibility with your door type and thickness.
- Confirm the lock has a mechanical key or other fallback.
- Confirm video door phone cabling between the door and the indoor monitor.

What do AC control, sensors and smart plugs cost?
AC control, sensors and smart plugs are the cheapest way to add automation, usually a few hundred to a few thousand rupees each. Aziot listed an IR blaster at ₹799 and 10 A and 16 A smart plugs at ₹739 and ₹769 on 11 October 2026. Studio Matrx publishes ₹1,800 to ₹4,000 per AC for a smart IR AC controller, ₹1,500 to ₹4,500 for a smart fan regulator, and ₹1,200 to ₹3,500 for a wireless motion or occupancy sensor.
Wired sensors cost more. Studio Matrx gives ₹4,000 to ₹9,000 for a wired motion or occupancy sensor and ₹800 to ₹2,500 each for door and window contact sensors. SmarDen publishes ₹2,000 to ₹4,000 for smart sensors and ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 for smart MCBs. Ghar.tv's figures for motion sensors (₹1,500 to ₹8,500) are wider, which shows how much the type and brand matter.
An IR blaster controls an AC the same way the handheld remote does. It needs line of sight to the indoor unit and it does not know whether the AC actually switched on unless the system has feedback. For bedrooms where the AC is the main reason to automate, ask the provider how the system confirms state, and test it during handover.

Which hubs, gateways and Wi-Fi costs do quotes leave out?
The hub or gateway and the home network are the line items most often missing from a home automation price, and the system will not work reliably without them. Solution Tree's Schneider 3BHK package includes one gateway. Studio Matrx lists a smart hub (Zigbee, Matter or Thread) at ₹4,000 to ₹15,000 and a three-node mesh Wi-Fi system at ₹12,000 to ₹35,000 for a whole home, and adds a hidden network upgrade cost of ₹15,000 to ₹40,000.
For reference on retail prices, Amazon.in listed one TP-Link Deco M4 mesh unit at ₹2,849 against an MRP of ₹8,999 on 11 October 2026. TP-Link India's product page describes the M4 three-pack as suited to 3 to 5 bedroom houses, and notes that actual coverage varies. Concrete walls, the router's position and the number of connected devices all change what a 2BHK or 3BHK actually needs.
Ask every provider to state which devices use Wi-Fi, which use a hub, and where the hub and router will sit. A cheap Wi-Fi switch in every room can add dozens of devices to a home router. A hub-based system adds one box but reduces that load. Either way, the network belongs in the scope and in the quote.
- Hub or gateway model and quantity.
- Router and mesh nodes: supplied by the provider or by you?
- Location and power backup for the hub and router.
- Who configures the network and records the passwords for handover?

Does wired or wireless automation cost more?
Wired automation usually costs more than a wireless retrofit because it adds cabling, containment, controllers and civil coordination. Ghar.tv publishes professional installation rates of ₹350 to ₹600 per sq ft for wired, ₹85 to ₹250 per sq ft for a basic wireless setup and ₹200 to ₹425 per sq ft for hybrid. InteriorCalculator says a wired Lutron system for the same 2BHK it prices at ₹2.1 lakh in standalone Wi-Fi would cost ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh including controller, scene modules, motorised systems and installation.
Wireless is not always free of civil cost. SmarDen says the rewiring other systems carry is often ₹15,000 to ₹40,000, while its own FAQ on the same page gives ₹10,000 to ₹30,000, so even one source is not consistent. Studio Matrx lists electrician and civil work at ₹8,000 to ₹50,000 as a hidden cost, structured cabling in a new build at ₹1,500 to ₹4,000 per point, and InteriorCalculator gives ₹15 to ₹30 per sq ft for future-proofing wiring.
If your walls are still open, the cheapest moment to add conduits, neutral conductors at switch boxes and network points is before plastering, even if you install wireless devices later. If the home is finished, a wireless retrofit avoids chasing walls but still needs the electrician to check neutrals, box depth and loads. Nexoforma's wiring checklist guide covers what to plan before the plaster closes.

What should a 2BHK or 3BHK automate room by room?
A sensible 2BHK or 3BHK scope starts with the rooms you use most and the functions that save effort every day, not with a device list. In most Indian flats that means the living room lights and fans, the main door, bedroom ACs and lights, and the geyser. Kitchens, bathrooms and balconies usually need only a few targeted functions.
List each room, the loads it has and the action you want, then count points. A living room may have several lighting circuits, a fan, a TV, an AC and curtains. A bedroom may need lights, a fan, an AC and a bedside scene. A bathroom often needs only the geyser and an exhaust fan, and some households add a timer for the geyser. A balcony may need one light and, in some homes, a curtain or blind on the opening.
Nexoforma's room and point planner turns this into a points schedule you can give to every provider, so all quotes price the same scope. Use the budget planner to see which rooms fit in phase one and which can wait.
- Living room: lighting circuits, fan, TV and AC control, curtains, scenes.
- Main door: smart lock, video door phone, entry light.
- Master bedroom: lights, fan, AC, curtains, a goodnight scene.
- Other bedrooms: lights, fan, AC control.
- Kitchen: lights, chimney or exhaust, gas or water leak sensor if wanted.
- Bathrooms: geyser timer or control, exhaust fan, motion-triggered light.
- Balcony and utility: light, washing machine plug, rain-exposed fittings rated for outdoor use.
- Network: router position, mesh nodes, hub location.

What should installation, programming and civil work cost?
Installation and programming are separate costs from the devices, and a good quote shows them as their own lines. Ghar.tv publishes professional installation at ₹15,000 to ₹45,000 for a basic setup and ₹85,000 to ₹4,25,000 for a comprehensive whole-home installation. Studio Matrx's 3BHK worked example includes ₹18,000 for the hub and programming, and its 4BHK villa example includes ₹1,60,000 for integration, design and programming.
Some sellers include installation in the price of a single product. Godrej's store marks several Neo Connect and Catus Touch locks with free installation. Others exclude it: SYAN relies on your local electrician, and Leccy and Genesis sells curtain installation separately. Read the product page and the quote for the exact words.
Programming means setting up scenes, schedules, voice assistant links, user accounts and remote access. Ask what is included at handover, how many changes are free after handover, and who owns the admin login. If the provider keeps the only admin access, you will pay them for every future change.
- Electrician labour per point or as a lump sum.
- Curtain track fitting and motor wiring.
- Lock fitting and any door modification.
- Hub, app and scene programming.
- Civil work, chasing, patching and painting: whose responsibility?
- Site visits after handover and the number of free changes.

How does GST apply to a home automation quote?
GST on a home automation quote depends on how each item and service is classified, so the quote should show the HSN or SAC code and the rate on every line. Since 22 September 2025, following the 56th GST Council meeting on 3 September 2025, GST uses a standard rate of 18%, a merit rate of 5% and a special rate of 40% for a few goods and services, according to the Council's press release. The same release lists air-conditioning machines and all TVs moving from 28% to 18%.
Retail listings show how this appears in practice. Moglix's listing for the Wipro Artisa Neo smart touch switch shows ₹587 of GST inside a ₹3,853 price, about 18% on the pre-tax value. Havells, Wozart and SYAN state their prices include taxes. If a quote adds GST again on top of prices you saw marked inclusive of taxes, ask for the pre-tax value of each item.
Nexoforma does not give tax advice and does not state the rate for any specific product here. Ask the provider for a proper tax invoice, check that the GSTIN is valid, and have a tax professional confirm the treatment if the job is a mixed supply of goods and installation. Ved's home automation quote checker flags quotes where GST is missing, unclear or calculated on the wrong base.
- HSN or SAC code on each line.
- GST rate and amount shown per line, not only as a total.
- Prices clearly marked inclusive or exclusive of GST.
- Supplier GSTIN and a proper tax invoice.
- Installation and programming shown separately from goods.

What does AMC and running cost add each year?
Annual running costs for home automation are small compared with the purchase price but they are not zero, and published estimates disagree widely. Studio Matrx puts an annual maintenance contract at 8% to 15% of system value per year, cloud subscriptions at ₹1,000 to ₹6,000 per year and electricity for always-on equipment at ₹800 to ₹3,000 per year. Ghar.tv gives maintenance contracts at ₹2,500 to ₹8,500 per year and cloud services at ₹400 to ₹1,250 per month.
On a ₹2.6 lakh system, the Studio Matrx percentage would imply a far larger AMC than Ghar.tv's flat range, so ask for the AMC price in rupees, in writing, with the scope of visits and parts. Some homes do not need a paid AMC at all if the system is simple, the warranty is clear and the owner holds the admin access.
Warranty is the other running cost. Havells lists a 1 year warranty on its Signia smart module and several Godrej locks list 3 years. Ask whether the provider handles warranty claims or sends you to the brand, and whether a replacement visit is chargeable.
- AMC price in rupees, not only a percentage.
- Number of preventive and breakdown visits per year.
- Parts covered, and the labour charge for parts not covered.
- Response time for a failed lock or main-door device.
- Any app or cloud subscription required to keep features working.

Is home automation more expensive in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai or Delhi NCR?
Published estimates suggest metro prices are higher, but the evidence is thin and comes from estimators, not from brand price lists. InteriorCalculator gives city ranges for a 2BHK with mid-tier Wi-Fi automation covering lights, curtains and security: Mumbai ₹3.6 to 5.5 lakh, Delhi NCR ₹3.4 to 5.3 lakh, Bengaluru ₹3.2 to 5 lakh, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune ₹3 to 4.8 lakh, and tier-2 cities ₹2.7 to 4.3 lakh. The page does not name the company behind it.
Ghar.tv says metro prices run 20% to 30% higher and tier-2 cities 15% to 25% lower, without rupee figures. For Bengaluru, Ideas and Living publishes ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh for a basic or mid-level 2BHK and ₹75,000 to ₹2.5 lakh for a basic or mid-level 3BHK. We did not find brand-published city price lists for Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai or Delhi NCR.
Device prices on national retail sites such as Amazon.in and brand stores are the same wherever they deliver. What varies by city is labour, travel, parking and society access rules, and the availability of trained installers for a specific brand. Ask local providers to quote the same points schedule, and compare their labour and programming lines directly.

Is a DIY kit or a professional integrator cheaper overall?
A DIY kit is cheaper to buy, and an integrator costs more but takes responsibility for design, installation and support. Studio Matrx's own example shows the gap: the same 3BHK at about ₹1.4 lakh with DIY brands and no curtains, about ₹2.6 lakh as a mid-band wireless installation, and over ₹4 lakh with Schneider or Legrand and blinds throughout.
DIY works best for a few rooms, a rented home, or a buyer comfortable with apps and routers. Any change to a switch box is mains electrical work, so use a qualified electrician even when the products are sold as DIY. Kits such as SYAN's are designed to be installed by a local electrician with remote guidance from the brand.
An integrator is worth paying for when the scope covers locks, curtains, video door phones, CCTV and scenes that cross rooms, because someone must make them work together. Do not assume an integrator's price is fair because it is higher. Check it line by line using the same scope you gave everyone else. Nexoforma does not have partner installers and does not recommend a particular company.

How do you phase a 2BHK or 3BHK automation budget?
Phase the budget by doing the hard-to-change infrastructure first and the easy-to-add devices later. Wiring, neutrals at switch boxes, curtain pelmets with power, network points and the hub location are hard to add once interiors are finished. Smart plugs, IR blasters, sensors and extra scenes can be added in an afternoon.
A common pattern is phase one for the main door, living room and master bedroom, phase two for the other bedrooms and curtains, and phase three for sensors, CCTV and energy monitoring. Check that the system you choose can expand without replacing the hub. SmarDen, Wozart and others describe their systems as modular, but ask the provider to show how a later room would be added and at what price.
Use Nexoforma's budget planner to split your scope into phases and see a total for each. Keep the same points schedule for every phase so later quotes compare like with like.
- Phase 0, before interiors close: conduits, neutrals, box depth, network points, curtain power.
- Phase 1: main door lock and video door phone, living room, master bedroom.
- Phase 2: remaining bedrooms, curtains, geysers.
- Phase 3: sensors, CCTV, energy monitoring, extra scenes.

How do you read and check a home automation quote?
Check a home automation quote by confirming that every room in your scope appears, that each line has a model number, quantity, unit price and GST, and that installation, programming and AMC are priced separately. A one-line package price for a 3BHK is hard to compare and hard to hold anyone to.
Then check the maths. Quantity times unit price should equal the line total, lines should add up to the subtotal, and GST should be applied once, on the right base. Look for items that are quietly missing, such as the hub, the router, curtain tracks, door modification for the lock, or wiring from the video door phone to the indoor monitor.
Ved's home automation quote checker reads a quotation and flags missing items, arithmetic errors, GST issues and weak terms. Nexoforma's quotation format templates give you a layout to send to providers so their quotes come back in the same shape. Neither tool is a substitute for a site visit by a qualified electrician.
- Every room and point from your schedule is listed.
- Brand and model number on every device line.
- Quantity, unit price and line total that multiply correctly.
- Hub, network, curtain track and fitting accessories included or excluded in writing.
- Installation, programming, civil work and site visits as separate lines.
- GST rate and HSN or SAC code per line, applied once.
- Warranty, AMC price in rupees, payment milestones and handover documents.
- Admin access and passwords handed to the owner at handover.

Frequently asked questions
How much does home automation cost for a 2BHK in India?
Published figures for a 2BHK run from about ₹5,000 for device-only light and fan control (Aziot) to ₹1,30,000+ for an installed package with switches, lock, curtains and video door phone (SmarDen). Kits sit between, such as Wozart's 2-BHK kit at ₹44,893. Your price depends on the rooms, devices, brand and whether installation is included.
How much does home automation cost for a 3BHK in India?
Published 3BHK figures run from about ₹10,000 device-only for lights, fans and AC control (Aziot) to ₹1,80,000+ installed (SmarDen). Studio Matrx's itemised mid-band wireless example totals about ₹2.6 lakh including curtains, CCTV, lock, mesh Wi-Fi and programming. Fully integrated systems are published at ₹5 to 12 lakh by Auro Realty.
What is the smart switch price in India?
Smart switch prices checked on 11 October 2026 ranged from ₹999 for an Aziot 4-node module to ₹4,998 for a Havells Signia two-channel relay switch. Moglix listed a Wipro Artisa Neo 1-channel smart touch switch at ₹3,853 including GST. Installed per-point rates published by Studio Matrx run from ₹1,000 to ₹18,000 depending on type.
Is wired home automation more expensive than wireless?
Yes, published figures show wired automation costing more. Ghar.tv gives installation at ₹350 to ₹600 per sq ft for wired against ₹85 to ₹250 for basic wireless. InteriorCalculator prices a wired Lutron 2BHK at ₹8 to 12 lakh. Wireless retrofits can still need electrical work, which Studio Matrx puts at ₹8,000 to ₹50,000.
How much GST applies to home automation in India?
The rate depends on how each item and service is classified, so check the HSN or SAC code on every line. Since 22 September 2025 GST uses a standard 18% rate, a 5% merit rate and a 40% special rate, per the GST Council. A Moglix smart switch listing showed about 18% GST in its price.
What does a home automation AMC cost in India?
Published AMC estimates disagree. Studio Matrx puts it at 8% to 15% of system value per year, while Ghar.tv gives ₹2,500 to ₹8,500 per year for maintenance contracts. Ask for the AMC in rupees, in writing, with the number of visits, parts covered and response time, and check whether any cloud subscription is required.
Does home automation cost more in Bengaluru, Mumbai or Delhi NCR?
Estimators suggest metros cost more, but no brand publishes city price lists we could find. InteriorCalculator gives a mid-tier 2BHK at ₹3.6 to 5.5 lakh in Mumbai, ₹3.4 to 5.3 lakh in Delhi NCR, ₹3.2 to 5 lakh in Bengaluru and ₹3 to 4.8 lakh in Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. Labour and access rules drive most differences.
Are online home automation kit prices the installed price?
No. Listing prices on brand sites and retailers such as Amazon.in are usually for devices only. Installation, curtain tracks, door modification, networking, programming and site visits are often extra. SYAN, for example, expects your local electrician to install its packages, while some Godrej locks are listed with free installation. Always ask for an installed quote.
How can I check whether a home automation quote is fair?
Give every provider the same room-by-room points schedule, then compare quotes line by line. Check model numbers, quantities, unit prices, maths, GST, installation, programming, AMC and missing items such as the hub or curtain tracks. Ved's home automation quote checker flags missing items, arithmetic errors, GST issues and weak terms in a quotation.
Can I automate a 2BHK in phases to spread the cost?
Yes. Do the infrastructure that is hard to change first, such as neutrals at switch boxes, network points and curtain power, then add devices room by room. Many people start with the main door, living room and master bedroom. Confirm the hub can take later rooms without replacement, and use Nexoforma's budget planner to price each phase.
