Quotation formats, answered.

What is the format of an electrical quotation for house wiring?

List the work by section: wiring points (per point), conduit and wire (size and grade), distribution board and protection (MCB, RCCB with ratings), switches and plates, earthing, labour and civil work, and testing and handover. Each line needs a specification, unit, quantity, rate and amount, followed by subtotal, GST and total, then warranty, payment milestones, exclusions and timeline.

What should a home automation quotation include?

Every device with brand, model and quantity; the controller, hub or gateway; programming and commissioning; installation and civil work; networking if needed; GST treatment; warranty and AMC terms; payment milestones; validity; exclusions; and what works without internet.

How do I compare two or three quotations?

Put them in the same rows of a comparison sheet: scope item by item, then subtotal, GST, total, optional items, warranty, AMC, payment terms and exclusions. Mark anything a quote doesn’t state as unknown, not zero, and list the questions that come out of the gaps.

Can I check a quotation I already have?

Yes. Ved’s quote checker reads a PDF or photo of your quotation, checks the arithmetic, missing items and terms, and researches each model on Indian sites. Enter your email to see the report.
